DC-Stat Shopfloor is the latest in SPC data collection technology. With its ability to be installed on Windows CE devices, such as the DC-9005,
it has the mobility and ruggedness to go where needed. The motivation
in its development was to provide the simplest, user-friendly interface
possible to the shopfloor, while providing the power and information
necessary in which to make critical, cost-cutting, and quality
decisions. Variable data can be manually entered or collected from
electronic output gages. The data collection input screen is intuitive
and easy to be read. From drawings, operator instructions,
specifications, and live gage readings, DC-Stat Shopfloor is known to
be highly innovative, as seen in Quality Magazine and Quality Digest.
XBar/Range charts, histograms, process capability bar charts, and a
multitude of statistics are easily displayed. Four user-definable
fields, called data tags, can be used for traceability purposes. Trend
analysis, assignable causes, process adjustments, and comments are just
a few of the many tools we give the operator, in order to properly
monitor and keep control of the process. Attribute data can be
collected both manually and by barcode scanning. Some Windows CE devices, such as the DC-9005, have built-in barcode scanners for such types of data collection.
